1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. cooking oil 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 c. sugar 5 eggs, separated 1 c. buttermilk 2 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. black walnuts, chopped 1/2 c. coconut Icing: 1/2 c. butter, softened 1 lb. box powdered sugar 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1 tsp. vanilla extract Combine first four ingredients. Add beaten egg yolks. Add remaining ingredients. Fold in beaten egg whites (beaten until stiff). Bake in three greased and floured 9-inch cake pans at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool before icing. Icing: Mix all ingredients; beat until smooth. Apply to cool cake.
