COUNTRY APPLE CAKE WITH CARAMEL SAUCE


CAKE:
2 Tbsp. oil
1 egg
1 pkg. Nut Quick Bread mix
3 c. apple pie filling
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts

SAUCE:
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. whipping cream
1 tsp. vanilla

CAKE: Spray 13 x 9 inch pan. In large bowl combine oil and
egg. Add bread mix, apple pie filling, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir
until mix is moistened. Stir in chopped nuts. Spread evenly in
sprayed pan and bake at 325 degrees for 45 - 55 minutes.

SAUCE: Mix sugars, butter and cream in medium saucepan. Bring
to boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
To serve cut warm cake, top each serving with warm sauce, ice cream
or whipped cream.
