4 c. apples chopped fine 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 c. oil 3 c. flour 2 tsp. soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. raisins 1/2 c. black walnuts or nuts 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 small jar maraschino cherries Chop apples fine and add sugar and vanilla. Let stand for 1 hour. Beat eggs and oil until creamy. Sift dry ingredients. Add oil and eggs to apples, then add dry mixture. Add raisins and nuts. Drain cherries and place on top.
