1 1/4 c. all purpose flour 1/2 c. cocoa 2 tsp. baking soda 1 c. (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 2 eggs 1 - (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 2 c. oats (quick or old-fashioned) uncooked 1 c. chopped walnuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In small bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; set aside. In larger bow., combine margarine, brown, sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla extract, beat until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, oats, and nuts. Drop by slightly rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 - 11 minutes. For chewy cookies, 12 - 13 minutes. For crisp cookies, let stand 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Recipe makes approx: 4 dozen cookies.
