FILLING: 2 pkg. dates 1 c. white sugar 1 c. water OR USE: 2 c. raisins 1 c. sugar 1 c. water 2 Tbsp. flour Cook until thick, cool and add 1 c. nuts DOUGH: 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. milk 3 eggs 4 1/2 or 5 c. flour 1 tsp. soda 1/4 tsp. salt Cream together first 6 ingredients. Add flour, soda and salt. Chill. Roll out dough; spread filling on dough. Roll like jelly roll. Put in refrigerator. Slice. Bake at 350 degrees.
