1 c. water 1/2 c. butter 1 c. flour FILLING: 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 c. flour 2 c. milk In saucepan heat water and butter to a rolling boil. Stir in flour all at once. Stir vigorously over low heat until smooth and velvety. Put dough in pastry tube, or shape with spatula into 4-inch long and 1-inch wide oblong shapes on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Bake until dry. Allow to cool slowly; then split. Fill with custard filling, then with chocolate icing. FILLING: In saucepan combine sugar, salt, and flour; stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring until it boils. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir a little over half of this mixture into 2 eggs. Blend this into hot mixture in saucepan, bringing just to boiling point. Cool and blend in 2 tsp. vanilla.
