1 c. cornmeal
1 c. cold water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
Bring to boil 2 3/4 cups water. Combine cornmeal, cold
water, salt and sugar; gradually add to boiling water, stirring
constantly. Cook until thick; stir frequently. Cover, cook over
low heat 10-15 minutes. Pour into loaf pan. Cool; chill
overnight. Turn out of pan, cut in 1/2 inch slices. Fry slowly
in hot fat.
