2 c. finely chopped cooked lean beef or pork
4 c. finely chopped apples
2 c. chopped raisins
2 c. currants - optional
1 c. finely chopped citron - optional
2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 c. apple cider or apple juice
1 c. meat broth
1 Tbsp. cloves
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts

Simmer slowly for one hour. Put in jars and seal hot. Can
also be frozen. 2 cups for 8 inch pie. 3 cups for 9 inch pie.
