1 bundle turnip greens (in store) or 2 gal. container from garden, packed salt meat, ham bone or 4 slices bacon 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. vegetable oil 3 c. water Trim long stems (if roots, peel and slice). Wash in sink 6 to 8 times until you can no longer feel sand in bottom of sink. In large pot, add 3 cups water, oil, meat and salt. Let come to boil and cook 15 to 30 minutes. Add turnips and roots. They will cook down. Cover with lid and cook 30 minutes. Remove and cut with knife and fork. Serve with corn bread.
