2 c. self-rising flour 1/4 c. shortening 1 c. buttermilk Cut shortening into flour with fork. Add buttermilk and mix. Dust pastry board or countertop with flour. Knead 6 or 8 times. Roll or pat out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut biscuits with flour-dipped biscuit cutter or glass. Place in greased pan. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes or golden brown.
