GRANNY'S CHOCOLATE AND VANILLA POUND CAKE

1/2 c. shortening
1 stick margarine
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/4 c. cocoa powder

Cream shortening, butter and sugar. Add one egg at a time, beating
after each addition. Sift flour; add baking powder and sift again.
Add milk and flour alternately to mixture. Add vanilla. Beat well.

Grease and flour tube pan. Tilting pan to one side, pour half of
batter. Add 1/4 cup cocoa powder to remaining batter. Beat well;
pour remaining batter in pan and set pan flat. Put cake in cold
oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Half of cake is
vanilla and half of cake chocolate. Marble between the chocolate and
vanilla.
