Step One: 1/3 c. sugar 1/3 c. packed brown sugar 3/4 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/8 tsp. baking soda 1/8 tsp. salt 1 c. quick-cooking oatmeal 1 c. orange-flavored dried cranberries (optional) 1 c. vanilla or white chips Step Two - Additional Ingredients: 1/2 c. melted butter 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla In a 1-quart jar, layer the sugar and brown sugar, packing well between each layer. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; spoon into jar. Top with oatmeal, cranberries and chips. Cover and store in dry place up to 6 months. To Prepare Cookies: Pour cookie mix into large bowl; stir to combine. Beat butter, eggs and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until brown. Remove to cool rack. Put dry ingredients in jar. Cover lid with decorative material. Attach other ingredients and directions.
