1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1-1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 1/4 c. nuts 1 lemon, juiced and peel grated Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to egg mixture, alternately with milk. Add nuts and grated lemon rind. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Add some sugar to the lemon juice and pour over baked bread while still warm.
