1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. raw sugar 2 eggs 1 c. unbleached white flour 1 c. milk 1 1/2 c. unprocessed bran 3/4 c. corn meal 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Cream shortening. Add sugar slowly, beating in well. Add well beaten eggs and beat until blended. Add bran and milk; let stand 5 minutes. Sift together flour, corn meal, baking powder and salt. Add to first mixture and blend well. Bake in greased 8 inch square pan in 400 degrees oven about 30 minutes. Tip: Good "high fiber" recipe.
