1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 c. oatmeal
1 c. raisins (optional)
1 c. pecans (optional)
Cream shortening and sugars. Mix in egg and vanilla.
Stir together flour, salt, soda and spices; fold into creamed
mixture. Stir in oats, raisins and pecans. Drop dough by
teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to
12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 4 dozen.
