HEARTY CHICKEN STEW

1 chicken, boiled and deboned
4 potatoes, diced
5 carrots, sliced
3 stalks celery, sliced
1 small onion, diced
1/2 stick butter or margarine
salt and pepper
1 c. milk

Boil chicken in at least 1 quart water. Remove chicken,
debone and dice. Use chicken broth to boil and cook potatoes,
carrots, celery and onion. When tender, add chicken, butter or
margarine, salt and pepper. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, add
milk and simmer 1 hour prior to serving.
