APPLESAUCE

1/2 c. boiling water
2 lb. cooking apples, peeled,
cored and sliced
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. sugar

In 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, heat water,
apples, cinnamon and cloves to boiling. Reduce heat to low;
cover and simmer 8 to 10 minutes until the apples are tender
for chunky applesauce, 12 to 15 minutes for smoother apple-
sauce. During last minutes of cooking time, stir sugar into
applesauce mixture.
