HAM, MACARONI CHEESE SOUP|
1/4 lb. butter
3/4 c. chopped onions
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. grated carrots
1/2 tsp. soda
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 qt. chicken broth
1 qt. milk
1 qt. grated American cheese
Cook vegetables in butter, just until tender. Add flour
and cornstarch. Bring to a boil cheese, milk and broth, then
add vegetable mixture. Mix, then add ham and cooked elbow
macaroni if desired, then add soda (real good).
