IOWA CORN CHOWDER

4 slices bacon, chopped
1 c. chopped onion
2 c. diced potatoes
2 1/2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. whole kernel corn
1 big can evaporated milk
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. paprika

Cook bacon until crisp in heavy saucepan. Add onion and
saute until soft. Add potatoes, 2 cups water, salt and pepper.
Cover and simmer until tender. Stir in corn and milk. Blend
flour with remaining water and stir into chowder. Cook,
stirring constantly, until thickened.
