HAMBURGER, PEAS AND RICE CASSEROLE

1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 lb. chopped meat
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
1 1/2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
2 1/2 c. water
1 c. uncooked rice
1 can peas
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper

Saute onion in a little oil; add meat and brown. Add
salt and pepper. Drain any fat. Add 2 1/2 cups water, cheese,
tomato paste and rice; bring to a boil. Lower heat and cover
(cook 20 minutes). When rice is almost cooked, add peas and
continue cooking until rice is cooked. Frozen peas can also be
used.
