BARBECUED BEANS

1 large onion, diced
1 large bell pepper, diced
4 cloves garlic, chopped fine
3 Tbsp. bacon grease
3 c. pinto beans
7 1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. sugar
6 oz. can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. ground allspice

Wash beans thoroughly. Cook in pressure cooker with the
7 1/2 cups water and the 2 tablespoons sugar for 1 hour. In
frying pan, saute onion, green pepper and garlic in the bacon
grease. Add these sauteed vegetables to the cooked beans along
with the can of tomato sauce, ground cumin, pepper and all-
spice. Mix all together and cook for 15 minutes more in the
pressure cooker. Let set for 1/2 hour or so before serving.
