HAMBURGERS

1/2 onion, chopped
1 (1 lb.) can corned beef
hash, chilled and cut into
6 slices
1 large tomato, peeled and cut
into 6 slices
1/4 lb. natural Cheddar
cheese, cut into 6 chunks
6 hamburger buns, toasted

Turn oven temperature to broil. Press onion into one
side of each hash slice; broil onion side down until top is
crisp. Turn, broil again until onion is tender. Top with
cheese; return to oven. Turn off heat; let stand until cheese
is melted. Serve on buns or plain, if desired. Yields 3 to 6
servings.
