OLD-FASHIONED CUBED STEAK

1 1/2 lb. cube steak
salt and pepper
flour
vegetable oil
1/4 c. unsifted flour
1 1/2 c. water
2 to 3 beef flavor bouillon
cubes
1 medium onion, sliced

Sprinkle steak lightly with salt and pepper; coat with
flour. In large skillet, brown meat in hot oil; remove from
skillet. Pour off all but 3 tablespoons fat. Stir in 1/4 cup
flour; cook and stir until flour browns. Stir in water and
bouillon until bouillon dissolves. Add onion and meat. Cover;
simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until tender.
