QUICK AND EASY BAKED APPLES

4 c. fresh cooking apples*
1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
1 stick margarine

*Granny Smith apples are very good for a little tart
flavor.
Peel, core and slice apples. Spread sugar over apple
slices and toss gently to combine sugar evenly over them.
Place apples in Pyrex dish and dot margarine around on top.
Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until apples begin to brown
slightly.
These same apples would also taste great stewed on top
of the stove in a saucepan, using 3/4 cup or less sugar and one
stick margarine as above. Let cook until apples are as tender
as you wish. This takes only a few minutes and is delicious as
well as quick and easy.
