DAVID'S FAVORITE BLUEBERRY BREAD

2 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
6 Tbsp. butter
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. fresh blueberries
3/4 c. chopped nuts are
optional (walnuts or
pecans)

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add the
butter, cutting it in with a pastry blender, until the mixture
is like fine crumbs. If using nuts, add at this point. In
separate bowl, beat eggs, slightly with a fork, then stir in
milk and vanilla; mix well. Add egg mixture to the flour
mixture; stir until just moistened; gently fold in blueberries.
Place batter in a 9 x 5-inch greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake in preheated 350 degrees oven for about 1 hour and 20 minutes (or
until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean). Cool in
pan 10 minutes before removing. Refrigerate to store.
