SOFT PRETZELS

1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/8 c. warm water
1 1/3 c. warm water
1/3 c. brown sugar
5 c. flour
2 Tbsp. baking soda

Dissolve dry yeast in 1/8 cup warm water. Stir in an
additional 1 1/3 cups warm water, brown sugar and flour. Heat
oven to 475 degrees. In a saucepan, measure baking soda to each cup
of water used to fill pan. Bring soda and water to a boil.
Place twisted pretzel in water for 15 seconds until pretzel is
golden in color. Remove pretzel from water and place onto
salted cookie sheet. Salt top of pretzel with coarse or kosher
salt. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until pretzel is golden brown.
