BOURBON BREAD PUDDING

3 Tbsp. melted butter
8 slices day old bread
4 c. whole milk (not 2%)
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 large eggs
1/3 c. golden raisins
2 tsp. vanilla

Sauce:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. Jack Daniels (or any
good quality)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour melted butter into 12 x 8 x
2-inch pan. Tear bread into small pieces and place in large
mixing bowl. Add milk, soak 5 minutes. Combine sugar, eggs,
raisins and mix well with bread and milk mixture. Pour into
prepared pan and bake 1 hour. Serve with bourbon sauce.
Sauce: Melt butter in saucepan. Add sugar and water.
Cook 2 minutes. Gradually add mixture to egg, beating con-
stantly. Slowly add bourbon. Serve in long stemware. Make
sure sauce is very warm.
