APPLE CHEESE CRISP|
8 to 10 (about 3 lb.) apples,
1 tsp. cinnamon
6 tsp. water
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. cheese, shredded
Pare, core and slice apples into greased baking dish,
sprinkle with cinnamon. Combine water and lemon juice and add
to apples. To make topping, mix sugar, flour and salt. Cut in
Crisco until mixture resembles corn meal. Lightly stir in
shredded cheese. Place topping evenly over apples and bake in
350 degrees oven for about 30 minutes or until crust is crisp and
browned and apples tender.
