CINNAMON APPLES

6 to 8 medium apples
1/2 c. cinnamon candy (red
hots)
1/2 c. water
2 c. sugar

Peel and core apples. Prepare a syrup of cinnamon
candy, water and sugar. Bring to a full boil and place the
apples in the syrup. Continue cooking, turning the apples to
color them evenly, until the apples are cooked through. Remove
the apples from the syrup. Continue boiling syrup until it
becomes thick so it may be poured over the apples as a glaze.
Note: Red food coloring may be added if needed to give a
brighter color to apples.
