HEALTHY GRANOLA
(Expensive, But Worth It!)
7 c. oatmeal (not quick
cooking)
1/2 c. wheat germ (regular)
1/2 c. sesame seed
1/2 c. coconut
1/4 c. flax seed (optional)
3/4 c. sunflower seeds (shells
removed)
1/2 c. whole wheat or soy
flour
3/4 c. chopped walnuts or
pecans
3/4 c. chopped dates or
raisins
1/2 c. pumpkin seeds
(optional)
1/2 c. oil
1 c. raw honey
2/3 c. hot water
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Can do ahead. Baking time: 45 minutes. Yield:
approximately 2 gallons.
Combine all dry ingredients. Add oil and honey, stir-
ring until well mixed. Stir in water, salt and vanilla.
Spread on a cookie sheet and bake at 275 degrees for 45 minutes. Stir
after the first 20 minutes. Remove, cool and store in an
airtight container or plastic bag.
Serving suggestions: Serve with milk for breakfast.
Eat as a snack. Mix with vanilla yogurt for a good after
school snack.
