APPLE IMPROMPTU 4 c. apples, sliced 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon pinch of nutmeg 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo 1/2 c. sugar 1 Tbsp. vanilla 1 egg 2/3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder Put sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in greased casserole. Bake, covered about 20 minutes. Mix butter or oleo and sugar together. Add vanilla and egg. Mix thoroughly. Add flour and baking powder. Spoon on top of partially cooked apples. Continue baking uncovered in 400 degrees oven for 20 to 25 minutes until top is cooked.
