HOMEMADE ICE CREAM

3/4 gal. whole milk
1 small carton whipping cream
2 1/2 c. sugar
5 Junket Rennet tablets
2 Tbsp. vanilla

Note: Junket Rennet tablets are available in any store
in the same section as Jell-O.
Heat whole milk and whipping cream over low heat to room
temperature only. Add sugar and vanilla. Crush Junket tablets
in a small container and add enough water to dissolve them,
approximately 2 to 3 tablespoons. Pour dissolved Junket
tablets into milk mixture and let stand approximately 5 minutes
or until mixture jells slightly. Pour into 1 gallon ice cream
freezer and freeze according to freezer directions. Frozen ice
cream is the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
