STEAMED CHERRY DUMPLINGS

Dumplings:

1 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk

Cherry Sauce:
1 (No. 2) can (21 oz.) Lucky
Leaf cherry pie filling
1/4 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter

Mix Lucky Leaf cherry pie filling, water and 2 table-
spoons of butter in a 3 1/2 quart saucepan. Boil for 5 min-
utes.
Dumplings: Mix together flour, baking powder, salt,
sugar and cut in butter. Add vanilla to milk and mix with
flour mixture just enough to moisten all dry ingredients. Drop
dumplings by teaspoonful onto the hot sauce. Boil uncovered
for 5 minutes. Cover and steam gently for 30 to 35 minutes or
until dumplings are not moist on top. Serve warm with sauce.
