TEXAS PEACH COBBLER

2 c. sliced peaches
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. fruit syrup
1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose
flour
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/3 c. margarine
whipped cream

Arrange fruit in greased round 8-inch cake pan. Mix
flour with sugar and sprinkle over fruit. Add lemon juice and
fruit syrup. Dot with butter. Heat in oven at 425 degrees for 10
minutes. Sift remaining ingredients together. Cut in marga-
rine. Mix egg and milk and add to dry ingredients. Stir.
Drop dough in 6 to 8 mounds over fruit. Bake in preheated oven
at 425 degrees for 30 minutes. Top with whipped cream before serving.
Best when warm or reheated in 350 degrees oven for 15 minutes. Serves
8.
