SUGAR COOKIES WITH FROSTING Cookie Dough: 1 c. shortening 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Frosting: 1 lb. powdered sugar 1/2 c. shortening 1 tsp. vanilla dash of salt 3 or 4 Tbsp. milk (for spreading consistency) food coloring Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; mix with shortening mix- ture. (Not necessary to chill dough before rolling out.) Roll out on floured board to cut. Bake at 350 degrees on greased pan for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool. Frost and decorate.
