ANNE'S CHRISTMAS COOKIES

2 sticks butter (not
margarine)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 c. plain, unsifted flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and flour. Blend
well. Roll into 1/2-inch balls and roll in finely chopped
pecans. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and press fingertip in
middle. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. While hot, press again
with fingertip and bake for 10 more minutes. Cool. Fill with
icing. Makes about 4 dozen.

Icing For Anne's Christmas Cookies:
3/4 stick butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 box confectioners sugar
1/3 c. or less of cream (can
use milk)
Cream all ingredients. Beat until smooth. Divide icing
into 2 bowls. Tint one bowl red and one bowl green. Ice
cooled cookies. (This makes enough for 2 batches.)
