SHORTBREAD COOKIES
(Simple To Make And Delicious With Coffee, Ice Cream, Etc.)
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. cornstarch
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter (2 sticks)

Combine flour, cornstarch, sugar and salt. Cream butter
and gradually work in flour mixture. Turn out dough on a
lightly floured surface. Knead with hands until dough cracks
slightly. Gently pat to a thickness of about 1/3-inch. Cut
with small fancy cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie
sheets and bake at 325 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until slightly
golden on the edges. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool.
Store in airtight containers. Makes 4 dozen.
