3/4 c. Crisco
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
2 pkg. chocolate kisses (3 1/2
to 4 doz.)
Using electric mixer, cream Crisco and sugar until
fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Add flour, baking
powder, salt and nuts and mix until well blended. Take a
teaspoon of batter and roll in hands to form a ball. Make an
indentation with your thumb and place a candy kiss inside.
Wrap the dough around the candy and seal it. Place on
ungreased baking sheet and bake 12 minutes or until lightly
browned at 350 degrees. Do not overbake.
