CHERRY CHOCOLATE BARS

1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
3 eggs
1 can cherry pie filling
1 tsp. almond flavoring

Frosting:
1 c. sugar
5 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1/3 c. milk
1 pkg. (6 oz.) milk chocolate
chips

Combine chocolate cake mix, eggs and cherry pie filling;
mix by hand, blending well. Add almond flavoring. Pour in
greased and floured 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees
for 25 to 30 minutes or until springs back from center and
pulls away from sides of pan. When cool, frost with following.
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, shortening and milk;
bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove from
heat; stir in chips until melted and smooth. Frost cool bars.
