1 can sweetened condensed milk

Remove paper label and place unopened can in medium- 
sized saucepan. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Lower
flame and simmer for 3 hours, making sure that can remains
covered with water (it may be necessary to add some boiling
water during cooking). When finished, cool can slowly. When
cool, open and serve either warm or cold. South Americans
serve this on toast, like jam or as a filling between layers of
a cake. It should be refrigerated.
