ITALIAN CREME CAKE

1 stick oleo
1/2 c. oil
2 c. sugar
6 egg yolks
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 small can coconut
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. broken nuts
6 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Cream shortening and sugar. Add the egg yolks and beat
well. Combine the flour, soda and salt. Add with the butter-
milk. Stir in vanilla, coconut and nuts. Fold in egg whites.
Divide into 3 well greased and floured pans and bake for 25 to
30 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan. Let
cool. Frost with Italian Creme Icing.

Italian Creme Icing:
1/2 stick oleo
large cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
Combine all together. Beat until mixture is of spread-
ing consistency.
