German chocolate cake mix
5 oz. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. chopped nuts
1 lb. bag Kraft carmels
6 oz. chocolate chips
Mix together cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, butter
and nuts. Melt carmels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in top of
double boiler. Place one half of cake mix in a 9 x 13-inch
pan, flatten with spoon or cake turner to cover bottom. Bake 6
minutes at 350 degrees. Take out, sprinkle chocolate chips over top.
Pour carmel mixture over and place remaining cake mix by
spoonfuls over top. Bake 18 minutes at 350 degrees.
Note: This recipe was written out for me by a lady who
spelled caramel as "carmel". I've used that spelling.
