PEACH COBBLER SURPRISE 2 c. sliced fresh peaches 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 stick butter, melted 3/4 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder pinch of salt 3/4 c. milk Put the sliced peaches into a bowl and sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Pour the melted butter into an 8-inch square baking pan. Sift together the remaining sugar, flour, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl. Stir in the milk. Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir. Spread the sugared peaches on top of the batter, but do not stir them in, they will sink to the bottom. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour or until the top is nicely golden and puffy.
