ALMOND PUFFS

1/2 c. (1/4 lb.) butter
1 c. flour
dash of salt
2 Tbsp. water

Cut butter into flour. Sprinkle with water. Form large
ball, divide in half. On greased baking sheet, pat into two 3
x 12 inch strips, 3 inches apart. (May be chilled overnight.)

Puff:
1/2 c. butter
1 c. water
1 c. flour
1 tsp. almond extract
4 eggs
In medium saucepan, heat butter and water to a boil.
Remove pan. Stir in almond extract and flour. Stir vigorously
until mixture forms ball. Beat in each egg until smooth.
Spread evenly over pastry strip, covering completely. Bake at
350 degrees for 60 minutes until brown. Cool. Frost. Sprinkle with
almonds.

Glaze:
1 1/2 c. 10x sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
enough milk to spread
