MICROWAVE CARAMEL CORN

16 c. popped corn
1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 c. light Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Place popcorn in 4 to 5 quart casserole. In a 2 1/2
quart bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, syrup and salt. Bring
mixture to a boil on Full power about 2 to 3 minutes. Boil
mixture for 3 minutes, stirring several times. Remove mixture
from oven and stir in baking soda. Mix well. Pour foamy syrup
mixture over popcorn and coat evenly. Put coated popcorn in
microwave and cook on Full power for 3 minutes, stirring every
30 seconds. Frequent stirring coats popcorn. As caramel corn
cools, it becomes crisp. Store in airtight container.
